New mosquito carries Zika Virus!

New mosquito carries Zika Virus!

The New York Post recently published an article stating traces of the Zika virus have been found in a second mosquito species in New York! Now, not only will the yellow fever mosquito carry the virus, which has been found in 23 states, there is potential for a second mosquito species to spread the virus across its native climate.

The CDC recommends using DEET, Picaridin, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus, or IR3535 to repel and reduce the bites of disease-carrying mosquitoes. However, when using harsh chemicals like DEET, its recommend to wash your skin every few hours. This is because DEET can cause irritation and is eventually absorbed by the skin and excreted by the kidneys. This generally isn't healthy and the toxicity of DEET is still under investigation.

dermaglove Bug Repellent contains the CDC recommended Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus, a natural and non-irritating oil to naturally repel mosquitoes. Since the importance of repelling disease carrying mosquitoes is clear, dermaglove is proud to provide a healthier and safer option to traditional DEET-based repellents.
